The game
Galaxy Exodus is a space strategy and resource-management game where every decision brings you closer to conquering the galaxy. Players unlock new planets, build their fleet, mine resources, produce fuel and upgrade their operations.
The goal is to complete the exodus as efficiently as possible, finish the journey, record your time and climb the Steam leaderboards with a better strategy.
How I made it
- 01
Concept & core loop
Defining the idle loop. Planets earn money, ships and fuel keep them running, and upgrades speed everything up; plus the end goal that turns it into a race against the clock.
- 02
Systems & balancing
Planets and epochs, four fuel tiers, expeditions, quests and conquest, each with its own costs, timers and boosts, tuned so progress always feels within reach.
- 03
UI design
A sci-fi control panel that stays readable: a resource bar on top, a section menu on the left and clear cards for every planet, fuel type and upgrade.
- 04
Art & assets
Planets, ships, fuel crystals, miners, stations and icons in one consistent low-poly style, with AI tools used for exploration and assets generation.
- 05
Animation
Every planet, ship, fuel crystal and expedition animated in After Effects and exported as frame sequences, 120 frames per ship, 360 for the rotating Earth.
- 06
Steam launch
Store page, capsule art, banners, screenshots, achievements and leaderboards, everything needed to get the game in front of players.
In-game screens
Planets, ships, fuel, expeditions and quests — each section of the game has its own screen.
Building the universe
Individual assets before they meet the interface — each one later animated frame by frame in After Effects.
